How To Clean Rv Caulking
| sunnybrookid NC New Member Joined: 07/31/2009 View Profile | Anybody have any suggestions on how to clean and seal caulking around trim panels, doors, and windows? The caulking seems to attract dust and dirt and is difficult to get off. Only thing I've found that halfway works is acetone, but had rather not use that. Any suggestions on how to seal it after cleaning would be welcome too. |

I found that Geocel brand, either the RV caulk or the tripolymer sealant are a good choice for resealing. '03 F-250 4x4 CC '71 Starcraft Wanderstar -- The Cowboy/Hilton |

I think I actually have some Goo Gone lying around... Becky Life's too short not to spend it doing something you love. Lessons on the full-time RVing journey (my blog): Interstellar Orchard |

Carefully use a razor knife with a new blade straight on at the edge of the caulked fitting and go all around. Then, use a plastic putty knife to remove the caulk from the base, usually the side of the RV. Clean it up with Magic Eraser and Goo Gone and wax or put on a final finish of some type. What you don't want to do is undercut the caulk between the fitting and base, or gouge anything with the razor, so be very careful. --2005 Ford F350 Lariat Crewcab 6.0, 4x4, 3.73 rear --2016 Montana 3711FL, 40' --2014 Wildcat 327CK, 38' SOLD |

I've used a plastic putty knife and removed everything I can scrape off first. Then I wipe it with some grout seal I bought at Home Depot. Seems to keep it clean. |
